Mushroom Mountain Farm Tours

Want to see all the magical things that mushrooms can do? Mushroom Mountain offers tours for those who are interested in mushrooms, whether it be wild mushroom foraging, cooking, cultivating, medicinal properties, or are just curious about the whole mushroom world.

Starting with the life cycles and ecology of fungi, the tour winds through the laboratory and fruiting room spaces of the farm, where visitors will be able to see and hear about the entire process of spawn production and mushroom cultivation. Myco-remediation to soil creation will be discussed along the way as well!

We also have a mushroom trail, where mushrooms periodically fruit. Some are planted and some are wild, but whatever is fruiting at the time, you will get to experience it. You will leave Mushroom Mountain with a newfound knowledge on all mushroom fronts.

After the tour, visit our store for books, spawn and other mushroom gifts.

Mushroom Mountain features 3 types of tours:

  1. Public Tours. These are scheduled once a month events, that anyone can sign up for. Price: $15/person. Kids under 4 are free, and must be with their parents at all times. Find our public tours here: https://shop.mushroommountain.com/collections/tours
  2. Private Group Tours. You can schedule a tour with Lizza as your guide. Minimum attendees for private groups is 10. If you have less than 10 people, we can still schedule you, but there is a minimum of $150. Your group may be as large as 30 attendees. If you have more than 20 attendees, the price goes down to $12 per person. For more information on how to schedule a private tour, please contact Lizza at myceliumlizza@gmail.com.
  3. Private School Tours. Our favorite type of tours are definitely kids tours. We feel it is very important to educate the young minds about the importance of fungi on our planet. After all, without fungi, there would be no life. It is vital for children to know how to preserve our wild areas that we have left on this Earth for the future generations, and this can be done with mushrooms. School groups are $7 per person (students, teachers, parents, chaperones) Tours are customized for school groups based on level of education. Email Lizza at myceliumlizza@gmail.com to customize your tour.

No pets allowed! Service animals are OK, but are not allowed in the fruiting rooms according to Food Safety Codes.

All tours last approximately 1-1.5 hours.

What others have said about their Mushroom Mountain tour experience:

One of the most eye-opening experiences in a long life of adventures! There is an entire alien presence sharing our world with us! (allowing us a presence here?) This is not a tourist site – though it would knock the socks off any literate human who happened in, as I did, thinking I already knew a lot about mushrooms. This is the biggest thing being explored on the planet, in my opinion. I left, reluctantly, at the end of the tour, wondering how I could help. Go see for yourself!”

Great experience! Olga was very helpful. The entire tour was very humorous and I enjoy this place very much! Highly recommend coming here if you like mushrooms or plants!”
