Mushroom Mountain Farm Tours
Join us in discovering all the magical things mushrooms can do! Mushroom Mountain offers farm tours, showcasing the amazing ways we can live in harmony with nature through fungi. This tour is perfect for anyone interested in learning about growing or cooking their own mushrooms, foraging for wild mushrooms, caring for our environment with mushrooms, or even starting their own mushroom farm.
THE TOUR
-> Starting off, our tour begins in our shaded picnic area at a large table filled with real mushrooms and teaching materials for the attendees to interact with. Your tour guide will briefly discuss Mushroom Mountain’s origins and the nutritional, medicinal, and other valuable properties of mushrooms.
–> Then, we will walk over to our laboratory where attendees can learn the role of a lab when working with mushrooms as well as hear about any cool projects we are working on currently.
—> Next the tour will visit our mushroom greenhouse to see how different mushrooms can be grown in a more enclosed environment. We will then pass through our vegetable garden and mural area where your guide will expound upon the complex and paramount connections between mushrooms and plants.
—-> Lastly, we will embark on the Mushroom Mountain Mushroom Trail- but don’t worry! This trail is very short and is a closed loop. Here we will see the various ways mushrooms can be farmed/grown outdoors. Guests will learn about the myriad of mushrooms that grow in the wild both here in South Carolina and in other locations around the world.
—–> The tour will conclude with an open question session where any of the attendees may ask any mushroom-related questions they might be pondering. After, guests are welcome to resume the trail or meander through our on-site shop The MushROOM to learn more about Mushroom Mountain and purchase any products we may carry.

HOW TO FIND US
Our address is:

Sometimes GPS will try to take you to the rear of our property (rear is on Jewell Road). If this happens, please proceed (or go back to) the intersection of Finley Road and Jewell Road, and take a left onto Finley Road. We will be the first driveway on your left and we have an elevated (faded) triangular sign that says Mushroom Mountain at the entrance to our gravel driveway. Proceed down the gravel driveway towards the wood sign (on the right) and follow the road to the left following the sign to The MushROOM. You will see cars parked on both sides and will be greeted by an employee who will help direct you where to park.

What others have said about their Mushroom Mountain Tour experience:
“One of the most eye-opening experiences in a long life of adventures! There is an entire alien presence sharing our world with us! (allowing us a presence here?) This is not a tourist site – though it would knock the socks off any literate human who happened in, as I did, thinking I already knew a lot about mushrooms. This is the biggest thing being explored on the planet, in my opinion. I left, reluctantly, at the end of the tour, wondering how I could help. Go see for yourself!”
“Great experience! Olga was very helpful. The entire tour was very humorous and I enjoy this place very much! Highly recommend coming here if you like mushrooms or plants!”
